Every diamond that we sell at Kessler’s comes with a written report of the grade and the value. Many diamonds come to us with an independent grading report, however we still put these through our rigorous and painstaking evaluation process and we find that approximately fifty percent of them are graded too high. If the diamond meets our standard for beauty, and is a good value we will re-grade the diamond down to the appropriate grade and offer it for sale without the original report. A grading laboratory cannot be held legally responsible for the grade they put on diamonds, but the jeweler can. We take that responsibility very seriously; after all it is our reputation that is on the line, so we stand behind the grading of each and every one of our diamonds unequivocally.
